DESCRIPTION

This tour aims to provide you an overview of Lisbon along its historic periods, going from West to East. We travel through the city from the Discoveries district in Belém to Parque das Nações, the former EXPO/98 site and a symbol of Lisbon Modernity

After picking you up in your hotel we drive to Belém, the district of the 16th century Portuguese discoveries. Here we will stroll and explore the monuments, gardens and museums around and you can enjoy the façade of the majestic Jeronimos Monastery and the imposing Torre de Belém, looking for the historical meaning of what you see. You will hear talking about the Portuguese Discoveries, the Manuel I's reign, the manueline artistic style and more. In Belém also is worth a visit the famous pastry shop where is made the custard tart of Belém.

Then our car will take you to Parque Eduardo VII where you can admire a magnificent panoramic view of Lisbon downtown, St George Castle and the Tagus River south bank.

Crossing through the city center, you will have the opportunity to admire the Pombaline buildings, raised in the aftermath of the earthquake of the 18th century by the Marquis of Pombal.

We continue our journey towards the Tagus passing close to the medieval Alfama district. We end our tour with a walk in Parque das Nações where you will have the opportunity to know the modern architecture of Lisbon and the famous buildings of Lisbon's Oceanarium, Oriente Railway Station, Casino de Lisboa, Knowledge Pavilion, the Cable Car along the riverfront, the Vasco da Gama Bridge and much more.
